An interview North of the river and an afternoon with my brother. I forgot how nice travelling within London can be.
Most of us hate commuting, getting up early, dragging ourselves to a level of functioning on a human level. However as I have been out of the loop for a while, working predominately at home I actually enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the morning commute. Taking the DLR from Woolwich to Stratford was surprisingly roomy and I have to give credit to the DLR attendant. He was charming, whether that was face to face or over the tannoy a mixture of silliness and a smile really made my day and dismissed the common perception we have of London travelling. One line I especially loved was him announcing to the train "we are arriving at London City Airport, please make sure to take all your baggage, especially your emotional baggage."
The interview went well but I am not counting my chickens yet, and this is not the place to go into my office outlook, not least because I don't want anyone to steal my professional charm.
The rest of my day has been spent with my brother in Dartford and because of the wonders of Dartford public transport (or lack of), most of that time was spent walking to his house from the station. My weekly steps are more than doubled when I stay on his sofa. What made this worse was I had to back to the city centre to give my brother some paperwork while he was at work.
I will end this blog with a picture of my lovely lunch. The Morrison's in Stratford has the best meal deal I have ever seen. Firstly there was a full salad bar included, snacks that included a sizeable lemon drizzle cake. All topped off with a nice smoothie - all for £3. Lovely Jubbly!
